4 smart essentials we spotted at Lakmé Fashion Week

Over the last week, fashion It girls across the city flocked to the St. Regis for the most fashionable time of the year: Lakmé Fashion Week. The best thing after catching the newest collections on the runways is spotting the coolest street-style looks off the ramps.

Like every year, the attendees stepped out in their sartorial best at Lakmé Fashion Week. From fanny packs and bum bags to the smartest accessory at Lakmé Fashion Week, scroll ahead as we highlight the coolest essentials that need to be a part of any street-style watcher’s wardrobe.

Here are 4 smart essentials we spotted at LFW this year.

The outfit: Jackets continue to remain to be a mainstay in every fashion girl’s wardrobe.

Equal parts cool and comfortable these warranted front row status and were spotted on everyone from Janhavi Kapoor to models off duty. Logomania continued to reign supreme and wide legged trousers have earned their status as the new ripped jeans of 2018.

The shoes: Sneakers remain to be a favorite with the fashion crowd this season too. Fashion girls didn’t shy to ditch their heels for sneakers like the Yeezy Boost that were utilitarian enough for the shows but were cool enough for the after-party too!

The gadget: Were you even at fashion week if you didn’t live stream the catwalk coverage on your Snap/Insta feed? If there’s one thing every fashion girl needed at LFW after copious amount of coffee, has got to be a power bank.

The accessory: If there was one accessory every fashion girl had by her side through LFW, it was smartwater – the latest entrant in India’s premium mineral water category. The best part? The stylish and chic bottle served as the perfect accessory and was convenient to carry because of its portable size giving you the much-needed dose of hydration during the hectic, manic fashion days.

Focal Point

Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) has been lauded amongst the most reputed fashion events of the country. This year smartwater joined hands with LFW to launch ‘The Platform’, an initiative to give emerging artists and young designers a chance to showcase their talent and creativity. Poochki, Shanti and Kanika Goyal presented their collections that were each an interpretation of smartwater’s core theme ‘Inspired by Clouds’. From the form to the fabrics, everything about these standout looks was inspired by the clouds.

“The Platform aims to give an opportunity to a new generation of designers who are willing to disrupt the conventional norms of fashion through their authentic and thought provoking ‘story based’ collections. We hope for this programme to inspire design, not bound by the constraints of stereotypes- giving rise to a new movement in the field of Indian fashion. I am personally very excited about this programme and looking forward to discover some great talent through this initiative,” says Anoop Manohar, GM Marketing, Coca-Cola India.
